According to a recent NPR/Ipsos poll, a majority of individuals regardless of party oppose state lawmakers passing laws to ban certain books and remove them from classrooms and school libraries. 86% of Democrats, 52% of Republicans, and 68% of independents oppose such bans. Therefore, we rate opposing book bans as PURPLE.
