It was messy, but it was bipartisan. Negotiations between President Biden and Speaker McCarthy produced an agreement to raise the debt ceiling that passed the House with majorities of both parties voting in favor of the bill. According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released today, neither Democrats nor Republicans emerged as a clear winner. The survey found that 50% of Americans thought neither party emerged as a winner, while another 20% said both sides won. That's 70% of Americans who thought the winner was neither red nor blue but purple.
