60% of Americans approve of Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts including 55% of Democrats, 57% of Republicans and 64% of Independents. Although Chief Justice Roberts is known as a conservative justice, he has also sided with the liberal justices on some decisions, illustrating how being purple includes evaluating policies based on their merits.
