PURPLE: 72-Hour Rule for Legislation

The recent House of Representatives rules package included the 72 hour rule. This provision requires bill text to be released at least 72 hours before a vote on the House floor, giving lawmakers and the public time to read the legislation. According to a recent Yahoo/YouGov poll, 68% of Americans support this rule, including 77% of Republicans, 66% of Democrats, and 71% of independents.
