According to a recent Washington Post - Schar School poll, 63% of Americans support the Supreme Court banning colleges and universities from considering a student's race and ethnicity when making decisions about student admissions. The support almost crosses political lines with 74% of Republicans and 67% of independents in favor but slightly fewer than half (47%) of Democrats say they support such a decision. We rate this as LAVENDER (almost purple).
In the same poll, a strong majority across political lines say it is inappropriate for universities to give preferential treatment in admissions to students whose parents went to the same university, with 80% of Democrats, 69% of Republicans, and 75% of independents agreeing. We rate this as AMETHYST (deeply purple).
